Crispy Cauliflower Steaks with Creamy Coconut Curry
I tried making crispy cauliflower steaks for the first time, using a recipe designed by ChatGPT.
They turned out a bit more charred than I expected. ChatGPT suggested 200°C for 16 minutes in the air fryer, but if you’ve got a Ninja air fryer, I’d stick to 180°C instead. It seems to cook much faster and hotter than some other air fryers.
I don’t mind a bit of char on seitan steaks, but not so much on cauliflower. Cauliflower doesn’t really carry “burnt edges” with the same confidence.
ChatGPT recommended serving the cauliflower steaks with red bell pepper, courgette, chickpeas, kale, and a bit of fresh chilli, along with a medium-spiced creamy coconut curry sauce.
I made it, and to be fair, it came out surprisingly well.
I’m definitely going to keep using ChatGPT recipes to see what it comes up with. I like that I can ask for simple recipe ideas based on what I’ve already got in the cupboard, rather than buying 48 ingredients and then emotionally recovering from the receipt.
It’s also a good way to try new vegetables I probably wouldn’t have thought to use.
I’ll keep posting them, even if some of them go horribly wrong. Which, knowing me and cooking, is always a possibility.
