Vegan Yes London – Korean Italian Fusion Food in Brick Lane
We visited Vegan Yes on Thursday 6th March 2025.
I’d always meant to go here — before I was plant-based, while I was, and even now I’m not, it’s still somewhere I’d go back to.
It’s an interesting spot if you’ve got an open mind and don’t like sticking to a rulebook with food. There’s a bit of a Heston-style, fusion-experimental feel to it that keeps things different.
They let you sample four types of kimchi before choosing:
Red – the spicy classic
Viola – rosemary, red cabbage and carrot
Yellow – turmeric and ginger
Green – mint and spirulina
I went for the Sushi Tramezzino with the yellow kimchi. It was mild, gingery, crunchy, and looked the part. It was genuinely filling too — I didn’t eat anything else that day.
At £16.50, it felt fair for the portion, especially for London.
For a drink, I had a ginger beer. I did ask for their homemade kombucha, but that wasn’t available at the time, which was a bit of a shame.
I didn’t really explore the full Italian–Korean crossover or try all the kimchi options this time, so there’s definitely a reason to go back and see what else is on offer.
A lot of places, even when they’re good, don’t always make me want to return — there’s usually something new to try elsewhere. But this one is different. I’d happily go back.
I’ll be honest as well — the burger looked good. I’m a big burger fan, even if it doesn’t always show.
You don’t have to be vegan to enjoy it either. The name might give that impression, but really it’s just a creative, flavour-led spot centred around kimchi.
If it was called something like “Kimchi Yes”, it wouldn’t feel out of place.
