Honestly Tasty Shamembert – Baked Vegan Camembert

📅 May 10, 2026 | ✍️ Sneaky305Club

I don’t know what happened when I tried this, because it was pretty late — around 10:30pm — and I don’t think I’d had any lunch or tea that day.

Very normal behaviour from me, obviously.

I kept putting it off, then suddenly decided late at night that it was a good idea to get things done. I’m definitely a night owl, so this sort of thing does happen.

So I decided to bake the Honestly Tasty Shamembert very late. It had been chilled in my fridge, so the cooking time was 16 minutes from chilled. You can also cook it from frozen, which takes around 25 minutes.

This cheese was the surprise of the plant-based pie bundle for me. I wasn’t expecting to enjoy it as much as I did.

The rind on this cheese was definitely memorable. I like fatty-style textures, because that’s usually where a lot of the good flavour is, and the rind on this was quite thick in a good way.

You could easily share this cheese, but I was very greedy and ate the whole lot myself.

The texture and creaminess were spot on. No weird aftertaste, just proper dairy-free / vegan cheesiness. It’s probably the best vegan camembert-style cheese I’ve tried so far.

A lot of people in Ocado’s comments say this cheese is quite mild, but I still think it has plenty of rich cheesy flavour to make it stand out.

I’ll definitely be buying this again in the winter months. It was such a comforting thing to eat, especially with loads of bread to dunk into it. Sometimes simple food like that is exactly what you want.

You can buy Honestly Tasty Shamembert from Ocado for £6.20, and it’s also available from Marks & Spencer.

It’s definitely a top buy, especially around winter or Christmas. A really good sharing tea option — unless you’re me, and apparently decide to eat the whole thing yourself at night like a cheese goblin.
